Filmmakers from all over the Reno, NV area will compete to see who can make the best short film in only 48 hours. The winning film will go up against films from around the world at Filmapalooza 2022 for a chance at the grand prize and an opportunity to screen at the Cannes Film Festival 2022 Short Film Corner.

The city producer will be onsite to answer any questions you may have about the 48.  Plus get tips and tricks from filmmakers who have survived the 48 hour challenge in the past. Perhaps even  find the newest member of your 48 hour team.  We encourage all ages to participate.

Moulage- The Art of injury Simulation Hands-on Workshop

In this 4 Hour crash course put on by Lynzie Ruecker, the owner of image perspectives, you will learn how to create realistic eye catching wound simulations. using gelefects, stage blood and Ben Nye products you will be able to simulate busing , black eyes, superficial lacerations and abrasions and painful looking burns. Let us help you make your film next level.

Recording Audio For A Short Film Workshop

WE want you to focus on the vision when the clock starts so we have created this workshop to help you get MOST of your paperwork done before the Kick-off Event. This workshop is open to all team leaders, if a team leader cannot make the event but would like help with filling out the paperwork, please contact the city producer. 

Casting Meet and Greet

So you have the crew, with Kickoff just a week away you need talent. We have put together a casting call for all actors who are interested in participating in the 48. Each actor will do a short audition. Teams will then select actors to join their 48 hour teams.  The city producer will also be on site to answer any questions, help with any SAG paperwork, etc...
