Filmmakers from all over the Reno, NV area will compete to see who can make the best short film in only 48 hours.
Write, shoot, and edit a short film over the weekend and see it PREMIERE on the BIG SCREEN!

Wherever you are currently in your filmmaking journey, the 48 Hour Film Project is a valuable next step!
•. Make your FIRST film... the first of many!
•. Create a film (or another film!) for your reel
• Practice new techniques -- in a low-risk setting
•. Find new filmmaking partners to work with, beginning on a (very!) short-term basis
• Create work to help show off your skills to find that next job!
The winning film will go up against films from around the world at Filmapalooza 2024 for a chance at the grand prize and an opportunity to screen at the Cannes Film Festival 2024 Short Film Corner!

- Filmmakers and Halloween Fans do you want to learn how to make your injuries look more realistic on film, here is your chance to learn from the professionals. This hands-on workshop is designed to help you take your blood, guts and gore to the next level! The best part is anything you make during this class can be used in your 48 hour Film Project. We know that this can be a little expensive but the cost is covering your materials. We hope that by giving you advanced notice, you can plan to join us to make some "KILLER" injuries! Audio is a very big part of film and we will cover the basics, in this class. Don't want to deal with the majority of the Paperwork during the competition? We invite team leaders/ and team members to join us. Malevolent Mouse Productions will help you get everything ready for next weekend, so you can focus on the fun stuff during our filming weekend. We highly recommend this workshop for any teams/ team leaders who are new to the 48 or who do not have experience with film paperwork. The paperwork can be a little overwhelming.

It's time to Kick off the Reno 48 Hour Film Project Weekend!!!! Bring your Laptops, phones, chargers, and teams. We have setup kickoff in a way that will allow you to maximize your time. With access to internet, power, and space to spread out, your team will be able to plan and brainstorm until you have your story ready. You will also have an opportunity to meet and mingle with the other teams, The Master of Ceremonies (Shaun Cameron), and Reno's City Producer (Ivey Smith). Dinner will be provided by Malevolent Mouse Productions. Our event photographer will also be on-site to take team pictures and document the excitement of the Kick off for the 2023 Reno 48 Hour Film Project! We hope to see you there!!!
The 2023 Poster Challenge

So you created a film during the Reno 48 Hour Film Project. Now lets up the game and create a poster to go along with it!!! This Poster will be added as a still before your film screens. It will also be used for Social Media as well as Promotional material. So upload your poster for your film before October 5th for a chance at a cool prize for best poster which will be announced at Awards.
