The weekend? May 17 - 19, 2019
The challenge? To make a film in only 48 hours!
Filmmakers from all over the Jacksonville, FL area will compete to see who can make the best short film in only 48 hours. The winning film will go up against films from around the world at Filmapalooza 2020 for a chance at the grand prize and an opportunity to screen at the Cannes Film Festival 2020 Short Film Corner.
Come out to Jax Film Bar Mondays on this fifth Monday of the month edition where filmmakers flock to Orange Park to meet up and network! On this Monday, Jacksonville 48 Hour Film Project City Producers Adam and Monique Madrid will host and will address and help register any teams in need! Great opportunity to build your team too! Location to be announced.
Hemming Park is the new location for Jacksonville 48 Hour Film Project Kick Off and Drop Off. This event is open to the public and there will be Fae's Barbecue food truck and a bar along with DJ Jimmie Hustle spinning great tunes to get everyone excited and hyped for the upcoming filming weekend! AT&T will do a movie screening in the park of short films from past 48 HFP competitions.
There will be giveaways and for the filmmakers we will roll out the new method for selecting a genre! Team leaders invite the whole squad to come out and have fun before the sleepless film weekend begins!!
Party starts 5:00pm! Be there!
REGISTERED TEAMS PLEASE NOTE: The drawing of genre will start at 6:20pm. The announcement of elements will be at 6:50pm.
Drop Off will be at Hemming Park. As filmmakers cross the finish line of turning in their completed films there will be a cash bar available if anyone would like to partake in a drink to celebrate completing a short film in 48 hours!!!
