This one hour session is designed to prepare student teams for the 48 Hour Film Project. Led by PJ Oaten (actor and 48HFP jury member), Daniel Charlton (ProAV), Aldo Longobardi (our new Schools' Liaison), and Anita Baltutis (Adelaide 48HFP Producer and educator who has mentored student teams), the session covers everything from understanding the competition format and team roles to story development, on-camera performance and practical production tips. Students will gain the tools and confidence to collaborate effectively, tell clear stories under time pressure, and bring their films to life with creativity and professionalism.

This FREE interactive workshop will explore how to quickly pick up a script and adapt to the fast-paced environment of the 48 Hour Film Project. Participants will gain insight into understanding their role on set, the importance of collaboration, and staying in their lane. The session includes improv games to enhance creativity, build ensemble skills, and encourage networking. There will also be dedicated time to connect with fellow actors, share experiences, and form potential teams for the project.
Nick Launchbury & Brett Archer are working screen actors and co-owners of Prompt Side Actors’ Collective, an Adelaide-based studio focused on film acting and self-taping technique. Drawing on the Howard Fine / Uta Hagen tradition, they combine strong foundational training with practical, on-set skills to help actors deliver authentic, camera-ready performances.
