Over 16 days (48x8) write, shoot and edit a short animated film based on the genre you draw at The Kickoff and the required character, prop, and line assigned to your team’s time zone.
Premiere YOUR awesome computer or stop motion animated film!
Celebrate with Awards one for Best Computer Animated Film and one for Best Stop Motion Animated Film, and other awards including Audience Award.
The two Best Film winners (Computer and Stop Motion) go to Filmapalooza in March 2027, and are eligible for a spot in our screening at the Cannes Film Festival Short Film Corner!

Animators from around the world have 16 days to create and deliver an original animated short film, in whatever animation style brings your story to life.
Computer animated, stop motion, claymation, mixed media… it’s up to you! When the competition begins, every team receives two genres plus required elements that must appear in your film. From there, your imagination takes over.
This is a global competition, so you can create your film wherever you are! Kickoff happens via email, and after the competition, the screenings and awards take place online.
