Yes We Cannes
a Global Film Challenge

  • The Yes We Cannes Global Film Challenge is a special competition for the very Best Filmmakers of the 48 Hour Film Project 2022. Select teams will be challenged to make a new film in 48 hours — showing off their skills against all of the top teams from around the world — and the best films will be presented at Filmapalooza. But, that’s not all. The very Best Films will screen at our Special Screening at the Cannes Film Festival Short Film Corner.

    Who is eligible?

    The Yes We Cannes Global Film Challenge is only open to the following regular 48 Hour Film Project Award Winners in each city:

    • 1st Place for Best Film
    • 2nd Place for Best Film
    • 3rd Place for Best Film 
    in cities where no 3rd Place Best Film Winner was announced, refer to rules for team eligibility.

    When is the competition? December 2-4, 2022

    Call your team together and show off your talent. Your film could end up in Cannes. Team must be comprised of a minimum of 50% of the original team and include the same Director or Team Leader.

    How does it work? It's Electronic

    Each team will receive it's assignment via email at 7 pm local time on Friday, December 2. Teams will have 48 hours to write, shoot and edit a short film, then upload it to Cinema48 by the deadline on Sunday evening to be eligible for the awards.

    What's Special?

    • Only open to the Top Teams of 2022
    • Electronic Kickoff Drop Off
    • The Top 15 will screen at Filmapalooza 2023
    • The Top 8 will be selected for Cannes

    What are the prizes?

    • Global Bragging Rights
    • Screening for the Top 15 Finalists at Filmapalooza, including a free festival pass for the Team Leaders
    • Screening for the Top 8 Finalists at the Cannes Film Festival Short Film Corner
    • $2000 for the Best Film of the Yes We Cannes Global Film Challenge

Official Winner

    All certified "Official Film Entries" are eligible to compete for the title of "Best Film" of the Yes We Cannes - Global Film Competition.
