Hello 48ers

I hope you are all well, we have some sad news with regards to the 48 Hour Film Project 2026, we have decided to hold off the Johannesburg leg of the competition due to there not being enough entrants for this year.

We know that this is disappointing for the teams who had already registered, or are in the process of registering however we feel it is our duty to allow the competition to run with enough entrants, to make for a good competition, and to properly assist our filmmaking community with the right tools, and opportunities to be a part of the competition as we have done in the past.

Please note that the competition registration for 2027 will open up next year in the first half of the year, so watch this space.
