New Haven Filmmakers Take to the Streets

This weekend 400 filmmakers from New Haven are making films in the 48 Hour Film Project! All of completed films will screen on the dates below.

There are still a few slots available in the New Haven 48HFP.

Here are some important notes for 48HFP filmmakers:

  • Elements: The required elements for New Haven will be listed to the right.
  • Media: You must submit your film on one of the media listed to the right.
  • Documents: You must submit releases for all team members, all music, all locations, and any other copyrighted material, as well as a team leader's agreement, a roster, and a certification statement. These forms can be downloaded from on our production documents page.
  • Rules/FAQ: You should make sure that your film complies with our rules. If you have questions about the rules, the best place to go is our faq.
  • 48HFP Hotline: If you have a question during the filmmaking weekend, call the 48HFP Hotline. The number is on the Kickoff Info Sheet that your team representative was given at the kickoff. If you email us, you will probably not receive an answer in time, so please call.
  • Dropoff: The location to drop off your film is listed below.
  • Coda: Be safe! Make great films! Good luck!

Last Minute Q&A Prep

Date  Wednesday, July 23
Time  6:00 - 8:00 pm
Place  The Grove Studios, 71 Orange St. New Haven
Notes  Come join me Wednesday July 23rd to go over questions, comments & concerns BEFORE the 48 filming weekend.

Want to know the specs to hand in? The answers to the most asked 48 questions? Helpful tips from experts? This is the time & place to get the answers before you Roll!

We will be hosted by the Grove Studios which will be offering up some production space options as well as prizes to film teams this year.

Park in the Olympia street level lot on State St after 5:30 pm (for free) then walk around the corner to the Grove Studios. We will have some munchies but feel free to bring something if you like as well.

Time  7:00 pm & 9:00 pm
Place  Criterion BowTie Cinema 16, 86 Temple Street, New Haven CT
Tickets  $11.00 (purchase them here)
Notes  Please visit Brown Paper Tickets to purchase tickets in advance for your screening.
There will be limited ticket sales on the night of the screenings.

$11.00 for one screening group
$20.00 for both groups on Wednesday night
$30.00 for all three screening groups

Best Of Screening

Date  Wednesday, August 27
Time  7:00 pm (Doors open at 6:00pm)
Place  Bijou Theatre, 275 Fairfield Avenue Bridgeport, CT
Tickets  $15.00 (purchase them here)
Notes  We will once again screen the winning films and announce the awards at our Red Carpet location the Bijou Theatre.
Doors open at 6:00pm to get a seat & grab some food or drinks from the bar. And don't forget to dress to impress here!
Screening will start @ 7:00pm followed immediately by announcing all the awards.
