48HFP Calendar & More Online EventsMonday, April 27, 2020

As we eagerly await word from local governments on when things will begin to open (at the appropriate time, of course!), we're pleased to announce our May-June Online Schedule.

Stuck At Home 48 Continues

Last month, the 48HFP launched a special fun challenge for filmmakers to exercise their creativity during quarantine--the Stuck at Home 48. This free filmmaking challenge series has had three successful events with filmmakers around the globe participating--from traditional 48HFP cities and from cities new to the 48 (.e.g., Brasilia and Jakarta). To learn more, you can visit http://48hourfilm.com/at-home, or you can watch films at https://www.facebook.com/groups/StuckAtHome48HFP or at our streaming site: https://48hourfilmproject.online/.

Each week, a new challenge is posted on the Stuck At Home page, and filmmakers are required to shoot everything at home. Cast and crew may only be people from your home or anyone through remote collaboration. The results have been fun--and it's a good way to keep up your skills and try something new.

We are pleased to announce that this free series will continue, with dates the following weekends:

May 1st-3rd

May 22nd - 24th

Additional dates will be determined in the future.

If you've already signed up for one of the previous weekends, then you're all set and do NOT need to sign up again to participate in these new dates. And if you haven't joined in on the Stuck at Home filmmaking fun, you can register for FREE right now at http://48hourfilm.com/at-home.

48x2 Animation Project

You've asked of it, and we're doing it. It's the first ever Animation Project for the 48. We give filmmakers 48x2 (that's 96 hours) to create an animated short. You'll receive your assignment (genre, character, prop and line) on Wednesday evening. You must submit your 2-5 minute short on Sunday. All kinds of animation are accepted--claymation to 2D, machinima to stop motion. It's your choice. We even accept live action composited with animation.

The entry fee is $30. The winner of Best Film of the 48x2 Animation Project will receive a trophy at Filmapalooza and will screen during our 48HFP screening at the Cannes Film Festival Short Film Corner 2021. Check out https://48hourfilm.com/animation for details.
