The weekend? September 11 - 13, 2020
The challenge? To make a film in only 48 hours!
Filmmakers from all over the Miami/Ft. Lauderdale, FL area will compete to see who can make the best short film in only 48 hours. The winning film will go up against films from around the world at Filmapalooza 2021 for a chance at the grand prize and an opportunity to screen at the Cannes Film Festival 2021 Short Film Corner.
In response to the coronavirus we've reduced our 2020 prices.
Session 2: The Art of Acting, Writing, and Collaboration
As creators, we must continue to work on our crafts of writing and acting in order to tell our stories while we remain physically distant. Join us for a candid conversation with Hollywood working actor Antonio Lyons, who has been featured in films including Hotel Rwanda and American History X.
Through an exploration of his work as an actor an activist, Antonio will share his advice on the art of acting and collaboration. We'll review his preparation and rehearsal process as an actor, and learn how he cultivates collaborative relationships. We'll finish the session by spending the last hour diving into a new writing resource our team has put together for the upcoming 48 Hour Film Project.
Session 3: Social Activism Through Storytelling
The 48 Hour Film Project has been a fluid platform for creatives to express themselves and amplify stories that concern them. In this session, we will explore some of the creative ways 48HFP Filmmakers have used the platform to explore social activism.
Here are some of the teams that will be making a short film.
