Alumni Achievements: San Juan 48HFP Producer Wins Daytime EmmyMonday, June 26, 2017

We've featured many a 48HFP filmmaker as a part of our Alumni Achievements column in this newsletter, and now we are thrilled to feature one of our 48HFP producers. San Juan 48HFP Producer Doug Lantz was recently awarded a daytime Emmy for his work on ABC's "Good Morning America."

Lantz joined our team of producers in 2014, and was instrumental in bringing the 48HFP to San Juan. Before joining us at the 48HFP, he founded the Rincon International Film Festival (RIFF), where he has continued to serve as Festival Director. RIFF has grown to be the largest and most prestigious film festival in Puerto Rico and was selected by MovieMaker Magazine as one of the top 25 film festivals "worth entering" for filmmakers.

Lantz has worked exclusively with ABC News as a producer for "Nightline", "Worlds News Tonight",  "20/20",  and "Good Morning America".  He has worked with many prestigious journalists including Diane Sawyer, Peter Jennings, Barbara Walters, Charlie Gibson and countless celebrities. "Good Morning America" recieved the Daytime Emmy for Outstanding Morning Program earlier this year, and Lantz was given the award for his work as Segment Producer. This was his first Emmy.

"It's a definite blessing to be rewarded for work that I truly love doing at GMA, " Lantz said. "The 48HFP also is something that I love participating with. It's amazing to watch so many talented and creative people from all over the world develop such amazing films in a short amount of time. It is always one of the highlights of my year."
