Winners
The awards for the 2005 tour were announced at a reception at the Anno Domini Gallery in San Jose on March 11th, 2006. The winners were:
The winner of the Panasonic HD Filmmakers Showdown
was WIT Films from Washington, DC, for "Multiverse", in which a man
imagines himself into the arms of a woman he does not know, only to find
another man imagining himself there too. WIT Films took home an
HVX200 HD camera
as their award.
The second runner-up was Blue Turtles from Paris for "Les Champignons de
Paname" ("The Mushrooms of Paris"), a farcical romp about the
mushroom world.
The first runner-up was ScatterShot from San Francisco for "The Write Stuff", an
intricately constructed romance about the death of a pen.
And the winner was Team Last to Enter from Des Moines for "Mimes on the
Prairie", a hilarious investigation into the role of mimes in
the settling of the American West. This is truly a cinderella
story—it was the 48HFP's first time in Des Moines and Team Last to
Enter's first film! Watch it on 48.tv.
At the Awards Ceremony, filmmakers were presented with the 2005 48 Hour
Film Trophy, made by DC glass artist Tim Tate.
