Kansas City Filmmakers Take to the Streets

This weekend 300 filmmakers from Kansas City are making films in the 48 Hour Film Project! All of completed films will screen on the dates below.

Here are some important notes for 48HFP filmmakers:

  • Elements: The required elements for Kansas City will be listed to the right.
  • Media: You must submit your film on one of the media listed to the right.
  • Documents: You must submit releases for all team members, all music, all locations, and any other copyrighted material, as well as a team leader's agreement, a roster, and a certification statement. These forms can be downloaded from on our production documents page.
  • Rules/FAQ: You should make sure that your film complies with our rules. If you have questions about the rules, the best place to go is our faq.
  • 48HFP Hotline: If you have a question during the filmmaking weekend, call the 48HFP Hotline. The number is on the Kickoff Info Sheet that your team representative was given at the kickoff. If you email us, you will probably not receive an answer in time, so please call.
  • Dropoff: The location to drop off your film is listed below.

Kansas City 48HFP Events

Kickoff

Date  Friday, August 1
Time  6:00pm - 7:00pm
Place  Screenland Crown Center, 2450 Grand Blvd - 3rd Floor Kansas City, MO 64108
Notes  This will be held in the open area just outside of the Box Office. Please have a representative there BETWEEN 6:00pm and 6:30pm. We will start the presentation, team genre drawing, and required elements PRECISELY at 6:30pm. We will stay until 7:30pm to answer any questions.

Dropoff

Date  Sunday, August 3
Time  6:00PM - 8:30PM (by 7:30pm to be on time!)
Place  Screenland Crown Center, 2450 Grand Blvd - 3rd Floor Kansas City, MO 64108
Notes  This will be held in the open area just outside of the Box Office. Films are on time that arrive by 7:30pm. There will be a time clock for you to punch when you arrive to ensure your team is on time. We will stay at this venue until 8:30pm for any late submissions. After that time, you will need to contact the CP to make arrangements to turn your film in.

Premiere Screenings

Time  Screening Group A - 5:30pm; Screening Group B - 7:30PM
Place  American Heartland Theatre, 2450 Grand Blvd - 4th Floor Kansas City, MO 64108
Tickets  $10 advance, $12 at the door; Suite (limit 30 seats) $30 advance, $35 at the door
Notes  This year we have Suite Seats!!! The price for advance purchase is $30 and if available, $35 at the door. The price includes, special private seating, hors d'oeuvres, swag bag, free drink coupon, and private cash bar. The suite is limited to 30 reservations so get your tickets fast!

Wrap Party

Date  Sunday, August 10
Time  9:30PM
Place  American Heartland Theatre, 2450 Grand Blvd - 4th Floor Kansas City, MO 64108
Notes  This will be the award show for the teams. Public is welcome, there is no ticket cost. This will be held shortly after the completion of Screening Group B once the Audience Choice ballots for that screening have been tallied.
