The 48 Hour Film Project

The Bern 48 Hour Film Project

The 48 Hour Film Project Switzerland – celebrating its sixth edition this year – is making a nationwide tour!

The 48 Hour Film Project is a wild and sleepless weekend in which you and your team have a blast making a movie. All writing, shooting, editing and scoring must be completed in just 48 hours.

On Friday night, you are assigned a character, a prop, a line of dialogue and a genre, that must be included in your movie. 48 hours later, you must submit your film. Next? Your masterpiece will be shown on the big screen of a local theater!

We’ll be stopping by Zurich, Locarno and Lausanne on the way to the grand finale in Geneva in November at Festival Tous Ecrans, the Geneva International Film, Television, and Transmedia Festival.

One winning team will be named best 48 Hour Film for each city, and will go on to compete in the international competition in the US, head to head with more than 120 other city winners from around the world.

The four Swiss city winners will compete for the grand prize of Best 48 Hour Film Switzerland, to be named in Geneva!

There are cash prizes totaling thousands of francs, and films from the Swiss cities have been shown around the world – even at the Festival de Cannes!

It’s time to grab your camera and get your film onto the big screen! With so many prizes to win and hundreds of Swiss filmmakers already participating, don’t miss out!
