The weekend? July 10 - 12, 2015

The challenge? To make a film in only 48 hours!

Filmmakers from all over the Detroit, MI area will compete to see who can make the best short film in only 48 hours. The winning film will go up against films from around the world at Filmapalooza 2016 for a chance at the grand prize and an opportunity to screen at the Cannes Film Festival 2016, Court Métrage.

Kickoff Event

Ferndale Plaza Shopping Center, 290 West Nine Mile Road, Ferndale 48220
Team Leaders join us at 6PM on Friday July 10th for the big kickoff of the 2014 Detroit 48 Hour Film Project in the main meeting room first floor of the Affirmations Community Center in Ferndale. Metered parking is right out back of the facility. Kickoff starts at 6PM and teams will be released by 7PM to begin working on their films!

Dropoff Event

M-1 Studios in Ferndale is our film dropoff location, we will be there from 6PM to 8PM, films MUST be turned in with all paperwork by 7:30PM to be considered on time! Free street parking on the front of the building and the side lot. Note we are near a busy train tracks so plan accordingly to drop off on time!

The Maple Theater & The Riviera Cinema

The Maple Theater in Bloomfield Township and The Riviera Cinema are our fantastic hosts for our Detroit 48 Hour Film screenings! Films will be screened in blocks, on Wed. July 22nd at The Maple Theater and Thurs. July 23rd 2015 at The Riviera Cinema in timeframes of 7-9PM and 9:15-11PM depending on which group you are with. Tickets will be $10 at the door for one screening or $17.50 to see both screenings in the same evening.
