The 48 Hour Film Project

The Black Rock City 48 Hour Film Project

For the sixth time, the 48 Hour Film Project will be at Burning Man!

Meet strangers and gather friends to make fiction films—write, shoot, and edit them—on the playa. Then a huge audience will gather to watch the films.

So bring a video camera to the playa! Bring a computer! Come create film art, and tell a story in the celluloid medium, spin yarns instead of fire, participate and collaborate with your films.

Are you a kind-hearted soul, able to lend cameras and editing equipment to the effort? Come to Videogasm for the kickoff (Tuesday at 3pm) and let us know!

How It Works

Step 1. Make a film on the playa with the criteria to the right.

Step 2. Bring it to Videogasm before 8pm Thursday. (Videogasm is at Esplanade and 8:30.)

Step 3. Watch its premiere!

Notes

All 48HFP BRC filmmakers are required to register with the Burning Man organization as a member of the press, sign a Basic Use Agreement (at Media Mecca or PlayaInfo), get their video camera tagged, and ask permission of any participants they wish to photograph.

As filmmakers, we are members of the press and should review our rights and responsibilities on the playa.
